Accounting Information Systems (ACC 709)
Objectives of the course are for students to gain an understanding of the business risks, opportunities and the underlying business processes and applications that are leveraged to meet those strategic needs while measuring performance.
Managerial Accounting (EMBA 711)
This course integrates fundamental managerial accounting topics with strategic analysis to demonstrate how accounting information is used within an organization to make business decisions, design control systems, and evaluate the impact on various stakeholder groups. The focus is on information used for internal decision making purposes and is designed for the MBA who will be using, rather than producing financial information.
Growing Entrepreneurial Organizations (BGES 302)
The focus of this class includes evaluation of new venture opportunities, obtaining capital and other resources, personnel issues, business operations, and legal considerations. Students prepare and present a business plan.
Audit, Financial Control (International Week, Universidad ESAN, Lima Peru July 2012)
This course is an in-depth review of the control environment and the value leveraging role of internal audit. We will use a process-focus in our evaluation of the control environment as well as discuss how IT is leveraged to improve internal controls. The course will use the COSO-ERM framework for the basis of our discussions and cases. The COSO-ERM framework identifies components that are an integrated process of identifying, assessing and managing the overall risks of an organization using a common language to help guide managers on preserving and leveraging value for their company.
